In Indonesia, the domestic sea salt industry faces major challenges for supply and demand. Therefore, this study seeks to develop a partnership business model aimed at fostering sustainability in the Indonesian sea salt industry. Utilizing an exploratory descriptive methodology with a qualitative focus, this study incorporates the business model canvas, sustainability aspect, partnership canvas, and value innovation framework. The participants comprised 113 sea salt farmers and seven sea salt processing micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from Java and Madura Islands. The data were analyzed using deductive content analysis. Triangulation and kappa statistical tests were performed to assess the validity and reliability. The kappa coefficient obtained was 0.83, which is an excellent agreement, surpassing the threshold of 0.75. Sea salt processing MSMEs aim to expand their market share by facilitating farmer access and providing collaborative training on jointly developed sea salt-processing methods. Conversely, smallholder sea salt farmers aim to enhance their income by participating in co-designed training programs, collaborative production and marketing initiatives, and contractual agreements for sea salt production.
